New Jersey City University women's soccer team, 5-1, in an NJAC game on September 25 at the Ramapo Athletic Center.

Hoffman, who made a career-high 21 saves in a 3-0 loss to William Paterson University on September 21 to garner the conference and region's top weekly defensive honors, moved into second place in program history with 366 saves. She reached double figures in saves for the 15
th time in her career, stopping nine shots in the first half and 11 in the second period.
With the loss, NJCU falls to 1-4-1 (0-2-0 NJAC). Ramapo (3-6, 1-1 NJAC) claimed its first conference victory of the season, outshooting NJCU, 37-2 (19-1 in the first half, 18-1 in the second).
Freshman forward
JILLIAN PECINA (Kenilworth, NJ/David Brearley), who had both of NJCU's shots on goal in the game, gave NJCU a 1-0 lead 5:35 into the game when she took off on a breakaway and scored past Ramapo goalkeeper
Talia Auslin.
But Ramapo countered with goals in the 11
th and 22
nd minutes to build a 2-1 lead. RCNJ tied it at the 10:18 mark when
Alexa Ragusa scored her second goal of the year off a pass through the box by
Katie Popowych. At 21:22,
Autumn Herring, who later assisted on the final goal, put away the game-winner off a pass from
Liz Samimi.
The game remained a one-goal contest for the next 46 minutes until RCNJ began to pull away.
Jaimie Towey scored an unassisted goal at 67:25 for a 3-1 advantage.
Lauren Laskowski scored her first goal of the year at 78:43 off an assist from
Bryce Knoblock while
Nicole Ninomiya netted her first goal at 84:37, assisted by
Herring, to cap the scoring.
NJCU is back in action on Saturday, September 28 at 1 p.m. when it hosts #22 ranked Rowan University in an NJAC game at the Robert L. McNulty Memorial Soccer Field.
