BROOKLYN, NY (www.NJCUGothicKnights.com)...With some of the most important games in recent program history on the horizon, the New Jersey City University women’s basketball team continued to roll in non-conference action. The Gothic Knights won their third game in four outings, using its defense to force 35 turnovers which translated into a 34-10 margin in points off giveaways as NJCU downed New York City College of Technology, 62-46, on Monday night at Klitgord Gymnasium.

NEWARK, NJ (www.NJCUGothicKnights.com)...New Jersey City University took a major step towards qualifying for the New Jersey Athletic Conference Tournament for the first time since the 1988-89 season and the Gothic Knights can thank a pair of rookie point guards who were not even born the last time NJCU reached the post-season event. Freshmen ASHLEY FREEMAN (Paterson, NJ/Passaic Tech) and LATIFAH JOHNSON (Newark, NJ/University) combined for 39 points as NJCU defeated Rutgers-Newark, 62-57, in overtime, in an NJAC North Division game on Saturday night at the Golden Dome.

MADISON, NJ (www.NJCUGothicKnights.com)...Sophomore guard EBONY CUNNINGHAM (East Orange, NJ/East Orange Campus) notched her eighth career 20-point scoring effort, her fifth of the season and second in a row, but it wasn’t enough as New Jersey City University dropped a 68-58 decision to Drew University in a non-conference women’s basketball game on Wednesday night at Baldwin Gymnasium.

JERSEY CITY, NJ (www.NJCUGothicKnights.com)...Sophomore guard EBONY CUNNINGHAM (East Orange, NJ/East Orange Campus) netted her fourth 20-point effort of the season, finishing with 22 markers and freshman point guard LATIFAH JOHNSON (Newark, NJ/University) added 16 points as New Jersey City University led by as many as 35 points and disposed of John Jay College, 77-53, in a non-conference women’s basketball game on Monday night at the John J. Moore Athletics and Fitness Center on “Coach Charlie Brown Court.”
