The centerpiece of the Thomas M. Gerrity Athletic Complex is the Robert L. McNulty Memorial Soccer Field. The main stadium field, a 3,000-seat grass stadium, was once used for football when NJCU sponsored the program, before being re-dedicated on October 10, 2009.
Prior to the 2009-10 season, the soccer programs played most of its home games in the spacious outfield of the baseball complex-with occasional games on the main field-but there was minimal seating and no amenities.
The McNulty Field, originally dedicated in 1995, is named for Robert L. McNulty, who coached NJCU when it was known as Jersey City State College from 1966-77. He was considered a building block of American soccer and one of the finest educators of the sport in the United States until his death in November 1992. McNulty was one of the 11 original "A" licensed coaches in the nation. He was inducted into the NJCU Athletics Hall of Fame in 2011.
The soccer programs now have three fields to practice on-the main stadium field, the previous playing area behind the stadium, and a compact practice field that has been established between the main playing field and Newark Bay to allow the teams to work on technical aspects of the sport in an enclosed area.
In June, 2017, NJCU entered into a facility usage partnership with the New York Red Bulls to convert the current practice field to professionally-approved standards. This agreement gives NJCU one of the finest grass practice facilities in the region and routinely brings international teams to NJCU for their training sessions.

New additions to the soccer stadium include a state-of-the-art wireless scoreboard and public address system. Competing teams will also enjoy new Kwik Goal Team shelters, which are situated on the opposite side of the facility from the fans. A layer of green, protective capping has been installed adjacent to both sidelines on the soccer field.
The stadium's spectator area features great site lines with chair back seating available near midfield. The stadium also features one of the finest press boxes in the region. The elevated angles from the camera platforms on the press level has allowed the athletics department to offer live, free, streaming video of all home soccer games.
A brand-new concession stand has been built adjacent to the stadium seating, providing spectators an opportunity to purchase warm food, beverages and snacks during events.
