JERSEY CITY, NJ (NJCUGothicKnights.com) | New Jersey City University's Thomas M. Gerrity Athletics Complex played host to another international soccer team on Saturday, July 6 when the Trinidad and Tobago (T&T) National Team practiced at NJCU's natural grass facility in advance of its opening game in the group stage of the 2013 CONCACAF Gold Cup.

T&T will face El Salvador on Monday, July 8 at Red Bull Arena in Harrison in its opening Group B game of The Confederation of North, Central American and Caribbean Association Football Gold Cup tournament. The group also includes Haiti and Honduras.

The 12-team event has been contested every two years since being founded in 1991 and determines the regional champion of North America, Central American and the Caribbean. The United States has served as a host for every tournament.

Over the years, NJCU's well-maintained natural grass facility has become a popular practice and training destination for national and professional soccer teams in preparation for international events held in the United States and abroad. Among those include the United States U-17 Women's Soccer National Team, the New York Red Bulls of Major League Soccer, and national teams from Colombia, Ecuador, Honduras and Panama.
