JERSEY CITY, NJWhile the weather continues to wreak havoc with the New Jersey City University softball schedule, another change has been made. NJCU’s scheduled home doubleheader on Thursday, April 23 at 3 p.m. against St. Joseph’s College (NY) has been cancelled due to a Skyline Conference make-up the Eagles must play on the same day. However, the Gothic Knights will instead face the College of Staten Island on April 23 at 4 p.m., at NJCU’s Thomas M. Gerrity Athletic Complex in a non-conference doubleheader.

It will be the third and fourth meeting of the year between NJCU and CSI in the ‘Bayonne Bridge Series’ and the eighth and ninth meeting between the schools in the last three years. CSI leads the all-time series, 16-14.

Earlier this year on March 23—also in Jersey City—the two schools split a doubleheader as CSI won the opener, 7-2 before NJCU claimed the nightcap, 4-3.

In all, Thursday’s original cancellation is the fifth of the season and fourth due to inclement spring weather.
