NJCU SELECTED AS A FINALIST FOR AVCA NATIONAL PLAY OF THE WEEK
Tabitha Jordan's diving pancake scored a point against Baruch earlier this month and earned her team a selection as an AVCA Play of the Week finalist.

JERSEY CITY, NJ (www.NJCUGothicKnights.com)...The New Jersey City University women's volleyball team was selected as a national finalist this week by the American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA) in its newly created Volleyball Market/AVCA Play of the Week.
NJCU was one of five schools among Division I, II and III institutions nationwide, selected in the fourth awards period of the season which ended on October 21, joining Concordia University —St. Paul, Ferris State University, Saint Leo University and Western Michigan University. WMU was ultimately selected as fourth recipient of the national honor. The plays are chosen based on video highlights submitted by athletic departments around the country.
The play occurred during the second set of NJCU's 3-1 loss to Baruch College in Jersey City on October 3. The Gothic Knights won the set 25-23. Trailing 16-13, sophomore outside hitter

KIARA MARTINEZ (Newark, NJ/East Side) dropped a roll shot down the line. The emotion of the 16-second play sparked the Knights to a 9-1 run to seize a 22-17 lead.
