Freshman opposite Megan Mondelli (Wayne, NJ/Wayne Valley) collected 11 digs, six kills, two aces and two blocks.

In the first set, Rowan owned a 15-14 lead, before Havlicek served two aces for an 18-14 lead and increased the cushion to 21-14 after NJCU made a pair of errors. Two Rowan attack errors and a Martinez ace brought the Knights to within 21-18. But leading 22-18, Mondelli landed consecutive kills and Rowan won 25-18.

The second set was also close in the mid stages, with NJCU trailing 13-12 after a Martinez winner. A Havlicek kill and Bowman ace opened the lead to 17-12, before two more kills from Havlicek and another by Mondelli made it 20-15. NJCU couldn’t draw closer than five and the Profs took the set on a Bowman winner.

There were eight ties and four lead chances in the third set. NJCU trailed 18-15 before Loo slammed three consecutive kills, made one error, then bounced back with a fourth kill, tying the match at 19-19. Bowman and Jordan traded kills before NJCU gained its final lead, 21-20, on block by freshman middle hitter MARISSA FLYNN (Bayonne, NJ/Holy Family Academy) and Johanesen.
