NJCU Athletic Hall of Fame
The New Jersey City University Athletic Hall of Fame was created in 1979 when the school was known as Jersey City State College to honor those individuals who had distinguished themselves as exceptional members of the Athletic Department, whether as an athlete, coach, administrator, or supporter. The current Hall includes 124 inductees over 17 classes. Three of the classes included 10 members. During the first 12 years of the Hall’s existence, there were annual inductions. Now, the ceremony is usually conducted every two years, with the next induction scheduled for early 2010.
