For the second year in a row, the New Jersey City University women's soccer team has had a highlight aired nationally on ESPN.

The video highlight of a diving header goal by senior striker JULIA CASERES (Union, NJ/Union) off a cross from sophomore center midfielder BRIANNA TAYLOR (Linden, NJ/Linden) from NJCU's 2-1 win over Rutgers University-Camden in Jersey City on October 26, aired twice on ESPN on October 27.

The goal was one of three highlights featured on SportsNation during the '3 Cheers' segment of the program that airs nationally at 5 p.m. Eastern. The goal was also featured as a Top Play during the 6 p.m. edition of ESPN's SportsCenter.

The play is the third ever known instance of an NJCU athletics highlight being featured on SportsCenter and one of a handful of times a Gothic Knight team or student-athlete has been chronicled by the network since 2007. The men's soccer team had a Top 10 play in October, 2009 while the women's soccer team had a Top Play in October, 2010.

In the 57th minute of NJCU's win over Camden, Taylor made a cut on the left wing before circling back and bending a cross between two defender into the goalmouth, where Caseres made a full extension on the diving header, pinpointing a top-shelf shot for a 2-0 lead. The electric play was her 97th career goal and proved to be the game-winning tally. Taylor was credited with her ninth assist of the season on the play.
