2011-12 PHYSICAL DATES
Note: All student-athletes MUST make an appointment with Ann Marie Stoebling, Head Athletic Trainer, in advance, by calling 201/200-3163 or e-mail: astoebling@njcu.edu.
Physical Dates: (at the Thomas M. Gerrity Athletic Complex team house)
- Monday, August 1, 2011 (8 a.m. to 10 a.m.)
- Monday, August 8, 2011 (1 p.m. to 3 p.m.).
All student-athletes must complete the 2011-12 information sheet and medical history form and are recommended to fill out the form, downloadable from this page, prior to their appointment. No forms will be available on site; you must print the forms and bring with you.

Student-athletes in all sports at New Jersey City University are provided with the best in medical and training services through the office of Ann Marie Stoebling, the head athletic trainer.
Stoebling is in charge of medical care for all NJCU student-athletes, working closely with the New Jersey Sports Medicine Institute. The sports medicine staff provide everything from ankle taping to rehabilitation following major surgery. Athletic training provides on-site staffing of all practices and games. They use the modern facilities on the lower level of the John J. Moore Athletics and Fitness Center for evaluation and rehabilitation, and rely on the doctors at the New Jersey Sports Medicine Institute for consultation and direction in treating and repairing major injuries.
The state-of-the-art AFC training facility includes a whirlpool room, electric stimulation and ultrasound machines, hydrocollators and the Kin-Kom (isokinetic machine for testing and rehabilitating injuries to major joints).
NJCU has insurance coverage to protect all participants in intercollegiate athletics against accidental injury that occur in the play or official practice of their sport. The training office also arranges for teams to receive a complete musculo-skeletal exam each year prior to the start of the preseason for each sport.
Dr. Gerard Malanga has served as the team physician at the University since 1999. Malanga is the Director of the New Jersey Sports Medicine Institute. He is a board-certified physical medicine and rehabilitation specialist who has worked with the renown Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minnesota.
Dr. Louis Rizio is the team orthopedic surgeon. Dr. Rizio is also based out of the New Jersey Sports Medicine Institute.
