RELAY RESULTS

PHILADELPHIA, PA…The New Jersey City University women’s outdoor track and field team tested itself against the most difficult competition in collegiate track and field on Thursday evening, competing in the 4x400-meter relay at the 115th Penn Relays, hosted by the University of Pennsylvania at Franklin Field. The three-day pinnacle of track runs from April 23-25.
 
The tandem of freshman DESERIA SANDERS (Lakewood, NJ/Long Branch), senior five-time All-American EBONY BARNES (Elizabeth, NJ/Elizabeth), freshman MELLISA GOODWIN (Howell, NJ/Howell) and junior CANDICE BELLAMY (Maplewood, NJ/Columbia) timed 4:22.74 overall. NJCU placed 82nd overall in the field, which consisted largely of Division I competition. The Gothic Knights were fifth in heat 10.

The NJCU Women's Bowling teams has been to the National Collegiate Final Four four times in the first seven years of the championship's history. NJCU appeared in 2004, 2006, 2008 and 2010, finishing 3rd in 2004 and 2008. NJCU also was fifth in 2005 and 2009.
Miracle Win vs. Kean
On December 9, 1988, the Gothic Knight men's basketball team trailed Kean in Union, NJ, 43-12, yet rallied for a miraculous, 102-100 victory.
Men's Basketball NJAC titles
NJCU has won a record 11 New Jersey Athletic Conference championships in men's basketball. Rowan has won 10 and William Paterson 9.

When the NJCU Women's Volleyball team won the 2005 New Jersey Athletic Conference championship, they became the first Gothic Knight team to win an NJAC women's title.
