NJCU PLAYS HOST TO HUDSON COUNTY HIGH SCHOOL VOLLEYBALL CHAMPIONSHIPS
10-30-09 HCIAA Girls Volleyball Finals at NJCU 7
Secaucus won the 2009 HCIAA title over Memorial, hosted by New Jersey City University.

JERSEY CITY, NJ (www.NJCUGothicKnights.com)...New Jersey City University hosted the 2009 Hudson County girls’ volleyball championships on Friday, October 30 at NJCU’s John J. Moore Athletics and Fitness Center (JMAC) on “Coach Charlie Brown Court”, located on Culver and Westside Avenues.
 
The final featured by the Secaucus High School Patriots and the Memorial High School Tigers of West New York, NJ. Secaucus prevailed, 2-0, winning 25-19, 25-17.
 
Over recent years NJCU has become the host for many Hudson County championships. The boys and girls volleyball champions have both been awarded at the JMAC as have several basketball crowns.
 
NJCU’s Thomas M. Gerrity Athletic Complex has played host to the county baseball and softball events in May 2008 and 2009.

When the NJCU Women's Volleyball team won the 2005 New Jersey Athletic Conference championship, they became the first Gothic Knight team to win an NJAC women's title.

Bowling, 3 Final Fours
The NJCU Women's Bowling teams has been to the National Collegiate Final Four three times in the first six years of the championship's history. NJCU appeared in 2004, 2006, and 2008, finishing 3rd in 2004 and 2008. NJCU also was fifth in 2005 and 2009.
Men's Basketball NJAC titles
NJCU has won a record 11 New Jersey Athletic Conference championships in men's basketball. Rowan has won 10 and William Paterson 9.
