JERSEY CITY, NJ (www.NJCUGothicKnights.com)...New Jersey City University’s dramatic, golden-goal victory over #3 ranked and previously unbeaten Montclair State University in men’s soccer on October 30 has made national headlines, and now national television. The video highlight of NJCU’s overtime win was featured on October 31 on ESPN’s SportsCenter, and was selected as the #9 play of the day during the “Top Plays” segment of the 11 p.m. broadcast. Additional details were added during the 2 a.m. show.

JERSEY CITY, NJ (www.NJCUGothicKnights.com)...The greatest rivalry this decade in New Jersey Athletic Conference men’s soccer had an unexpected additional chapter written as New Jersey City University pulled off perhaps the biggest upset in NCAA Division III this season. Senior midfielder AWAL AHMED (Elizabeth, NJ/Linden) scored on a header just 3:59 into the first overtime period off a lengthy free kick from freshman midfielder JEFFERSON HURTADO (Totowa, NJ/Passaic Valley) as the Gothic Knights concluded their 2009 season with a stunning upset of nationally #3 ranked and previously unbeaten Montclair State University, in the final NJAC regular season game of the year played Friday at the Robert L. McNulty Memorial Soccer Field.

Current NJCU Athletics Director Alice De Fazio was runner-up for the 1980 Wade Trophy as the top player in women's collegiate basketball?
Bowling, 3 Final Fours
The NJCU Women's Bowling teams has been to the National Collegiate Final Four three times in the first six years of the championship's history. NJCU appeared in 2004, 2006, and 2008, finishing 3rd in 2004 and 2008. NJCU also was fifth in 2005 and 2009.
Men's Basketball NJAC titles
NJCU has won a record 11 New Jersey Athletic Conference championships in men's basketball. Rowan has won 10 and William Paterson 9.
Women's Volleyball, 2005 Champions

When the NJCU Women's Volleyball team won the 2005 New Jersey Athletic Conference championship, they became the first Gothic Knight team to win an NJAC women's title.
